ASD teacher / Autistic Spectrum Disorder teacher

TeacherActive are seeking an ASD teacher / Autistic Spectrum Disorder teacher to teach a small class of Primary students. A school with a growing reputation in the North Yorkshire area are looking for someone with a structured approach to teaching, thorough in their lesson planning and eager to take a lead role in the development of children who may be non-verbal and/or exhibiting behavioural challenges.
Experience in an ASD setting is not essential, but desirable. As the needs of the students can be quite complex and diverse, it is essential you can provide your own lesson planning. Prior experience with TEACCH, Makaton and PECS would also be beneficial. The school is committed to the progress of students' academic, emotional and physical well-being, and are seeking teachers who are able to introduce innovative, inspiring concepts that will aid the development of the students.
This is a rewarding role and requires applicants to have a background of teaching children with ASD. The role is full time on a week by week contract with the opportunity to go longer term for the right ASD teacher / Autistic Spectrum Disorder teacher.
