A Residential Support Worker Needed

* Do you have experience with working one to one with young adults with Special Needs in a mentoring role ?

A dedicated Residential Support Worker is needed in Leeds, to assist children and young adults with a range of Special Educational Needs within a Residential secure unit.

The young people at this setting are amongst the most vulnerable, difficult to engage in the country and display a wide range of challenging behaviours, mental health issues and many have complex needs. The schools vision is to inspire change and development in 'Attitude, Behaviour, Learning and Emotions' to enable young people to deliver positive contributions to their families, society and their local communities whilst reducing risk taking behaviours.

So if you are interested in supporting vulnerable young people this may be the job opportunity for you! You will need to have had experience supporting young people with challenging behaviours and complex needs.

The ideal Residential Support Worker will need to have:

* Previous experience within a SEND school or residential care environment
* Experience with challenging behaviours
* Previous MAPA/CPI Safety Interventions training would be desirable
* A patient and caring approach when providing all aspects of care
* Experience in one to one support to encourage independence and raising self-esteem
* Be comfortable with providing personal care to young adults, including washing, dressing, toileting and feeding
* Respect privacy and dignity at all times
* Able to adapt to different working environments
