Special Needs English Specialist – Modern, Spacious School (Exeter)

Are you an experienced English Teacher with a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs? We are looking for a Special Needs English Specialist to join our inclusive, non-selective independent school in Exeter. This role requires strong behaviour management skills to support students with a variety of needs, including autism, SEMH, and anxiety. The school is set in a modern, spacious environment, with ample outdoor space tailored to meet the diverse needs of its students.

The Role:

  • Deliver engaging and tailored English lessons to students with varied SEND needs, including autism, SEMH, and anxiety.
  • Implement strong behaviour management strategies to create a calm and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with support staff and specialists to ensure individualised learning for each student.
  • Use the school's modern and spacious facilities, including outdoor spaces, to support the learning and well-being of students.

What We're Looking For:

  • A qualified English Teacher with QTS (or equivalent) and experience working with SEND students.
  • Proven ability to manage challenging behaviours and create a positive, structured learning environment.
  • A compassionate and flexible approach to meet the emotional and educational needs of children with a range of SEND requirements.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusivity and supporting the holistic development of students.
