SEND Teaching Assistant / SEND TA

Pay rate £90-£110 a day
A fantastic Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Liverpool (L1) requires a talented teaching assistant, with a minimum of 6 months experience working in an educational establishment. Team-Teach training would be beneficial but not essential
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant to support students on a one-to-one basis with curriculum support as well as in small groups with class-based activities.
The school supports pupils in Key stages 3 and 4 who display challenging behaviour and have a variety of SEND including EBD and SEMH. The role will involve working under the direction of a class teacher. The post is for 5 days per week with the opportunity to go permanent for the right candidate.

As a Teaching Assistant / TA, it is essential that you have the following:
- A minimum of 6 months’ experience in an educational establishment
- Strong behaviour management experience
- Knowledge of working with pupils with challenging behaviour.
- A calm, patient, and caring persona
- Excellent communication skills
- A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
- Experience in working with supporting students in their education on a 1:1 and a small group basis
