Job Title: Behavioural Support Assistant – Resource Base
Location: Nailsea
Start Date: Immediate Start
Salary: £89 – £95 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)

TeacherActive is working in partnership with a respected secondary school in Nailsea, which is seeking to appoint a Behavioural Support Assistant to join their dedicated Resource Base team. This is a long-term, full-time role starting immediately, providing support to students with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, often on a 1:1 basis.

The Resource Base offers a structured and nurturing environment for students who need additional behavioural support outside of the mainstream classroom. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff and the SEN team to help students stay engaged, regulate their emotions and achieve their full potential.

The successful Behavioural Support Assistant will:

• Have experience supporting young people with behavioural challenges or SEMH needs

• Be resilient, empathetic, and able to de-escalate situations calmly and professionally

• Have a good understanding of safeguarding and behaviour support strategies

• Be confident building strong relationships with students who may present with complex needs

• Ideally have experience working in a school, PRU, alternative provision or similar environment
