TeacherActive is working in partnership with a secondary school in the Medway area of Kent to recruit an engaging and enthusiastic Design and Technology Teacher for a September or October 2025 start. This opportunity is ideal for both experienced teachers and ECTs looking to make a difference in a dynamic learning environment.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a DT Teacher, your role will include:
Planning and delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Teaching your specialist subject (e.g. Food Technology, Textiles, Product Design, Art & Design) while supporting broader DT curriculum areas as needed.
Preparing practical lessons and managing equipment and materials safely and effectively.
Inspiring students to explore creativity, innovation, and design thinking.
Assessing student progress and providing timely, constructive feedback.
Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
Collaborating with department staff to contribute to curriculum enrichment and development.
We’re Looking For:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a DT or relevant specialism.
Experience teaching in UK secondary schools (KS3/KS4).
Strong practical knowledge in your area of specialism (e.g. Food Tech, Art, Textiles).
Passion for hands-on, project-based learning and student creativity.
Good classroom management and communication skills.
ECTs are welcome and encouraged to apply.
