TeacherActive are working in partnership with a primary school in the Medway area to recruit a dedicated and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a September 2025 start. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with teaching staff, lead learning activities, and support pupils’ progress across the school.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:
Delivering pre-planned lessons and covering classes in the absence of the teacher.
Leading small group work and 1:1 interventions, particularly in English and Maths.
Supporting pupils with varying abilities, including those with SEND or EAL needs.
Assisting with planning, preparation, and assessment alongside the class teacher.
Promoting positive behaviour and a supportive learning environment.
Supporting the development of pupils’ academic, social, and emotional skills.
Taking part in school activities, training, and ongoing professional development.
What We’re Looking For:
HLTA qualification (or equivalent) and relevant school-based experience.
Proven experience supporting pupils in primary education (EYFS, KS1 or KS2).
Ability to lead learning and manage groups confidently.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
A nurturing, positive, and flexible approach to supporting children.
