Key Responsibilities:

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the teaching and learning across the school. Your duties will include:

  • Leading small group interventions to support pupils’ academic progress

  • Covering whole-class teaching when required (e.g., teacher absence or PPA time)

  • Supporting the planning and delivery of engaging lessons

  • Providing targeted support to individual pupils, including those with additional needs

  • Monitoring pupil progress and feeding back to class teachers and the SENCO

  • Supporting behaviour management and creating a positive learning environment

  • Assisting in the preparation of resources and maintaining an organised classroom setting

  • Playing an active role in whole-school life, including events and extracurricular activities


The ideal candidate will have:

  • HLTA status or equivalent recognised qualification

  • Previous experience working in a primary school setting

  • Confidence delivering lessons and managing classroom routines

  • A proactive, flexible, and child-centred approach

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • A commitment to inclusive education and supporting all learners
