Primary Teaching Assistant

TeacheraActive are working with a Neath Primary school and they wish to appoint a responsible, reliable person for the post of Teaching Assistant. The post will be temporary until 31st August 2026 due to grant funding. The post will require a successful applicant to work across the school to support the development of the Welsh Language on a full-time basis. The appointed staff member would be a fluent Welsh speaker coupled with a high standard of written Welsh and passionate about the Welsh Language. They would promote incidental Welsh in the classroom and integrate the language naturally into daily routines and activities.

TeacherActive are looking to appoint an exceptional candidate who:

• Will have relevant experience of working with children (minimum of 6 months)
• Level 2/3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in schools
• Will be required to work under the direction of the class teacher
• Responsible for working with an individual pupil and small groups
• Can plan, prepare and promote constructive play during the lunchtime period

The Head Teacher will be seeking the following skills/personal qualities:

• Enthusiasm and self motivation
• Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
