TeacherActive is proud to partner with a SEND / Special Educational Needs and Disabilities provision based in Wakefield. The school follows a varied curriculum to suit the needs of the young people. Underpinning this, is the consistent teaching of people skills, and guidance to assistchildren develop their social, emotional, and personal abilities. Their culture is one of patience, inclusivity and helping children and young people with disabilities to achieve their confidence, independence and encourage them to learn.

With the aim to meet the specific needs of all our students by offering a range of personalised learning approaches and pathways, the school is looking for a dedicated SEND teacher to support the diverse needs of all students. The school is seeking a passionate team player to take on this short-term role as SEND Teacher, although there is potential for this to become a long-term placement for the right candidate. The successful SEND Teacher will bring a new dimension and skill set to this role, be keen to develop their own skills to adapt to the children's individual needs and have a positive impact on the wider school.

The successful SEND teacher will be working directly with students across all Key Stages, whose ages range from 5 - 19yrs. Most of the young people are diagnosed withAutism / ASD, Learning Difficulties / LD or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder / ADHD.

The successful SEND Teacher will have:

- A passion for working with students with SEND

- Experience working with children and young people with additional needs, specifically ASD, SLD, ADHD

- Experience working with students through therapeutic practic
