The TeacherActive 2023-2024 Charity Report is now live

Serious about what we do, not so serious when we do it. This motto is demonstrated throughout our company culture, showing our passion and integrity for education recruitment, diversity and inclusion and our charity efforts.

Giving back is in our nature and we’ve fundraised for charity for years, uniting a community of sales and support team members to fundraise for national causes. We encourage our team members to give back to causes they care about with backing from TeacherActive.

These initiatives allow us to build a company culture centred around community, giving back and supporting others. To recognise our team’s achievements, drive our mission to support and uplift others and join in on the community spirit, we have published our annual Charity Report which is available now.

Wear Yellow Day in support of Cystic Fibrosis Trust

Our charity mission

Our mission is to use our unwavering passion for people to support and uplift others through causes close to our hearts while creating unique and engaging fundraising activities.

As well as raising money for national causes our charity works around three initiatives:

CF Trust X3: Our designated, company-wide charity is Cystic Fibrosis Trust, who we fundraise for in memory of a dear friend and colleague Andy Elliott. For the last two years we’ve tripled every pound that our teams raise for this charity.

Charity Day: To champion our teams in supporting charities close to them, we provide an extra day of paid annual leave to take part in charitable causes.

Active Impact: We encourage our teams across England and Wales to partner with a local charity of their choice and support them with funds donated by TeacherActive. This is supplemented by the charity day given to all team members.

The Charity Cup: An internal competition where teams earn points for their charity efforts across the academic year. The team that gains the most points wins an outdoor learning area for a school of their choice, supplied by a partner organisation called Groundwork.

Event spotlight: We strongly encourage our internal teams to give back to causes they care about with complete backing from their colleagues. We have a weekly good news platform called Props where we promote all charity events, company-led or driven by a team member, elevating awareness and gaining sponsorship from directors, sales and support team members alike.

Show Racism The Red Card 3

Wear Red Day for Show Racism the Red Card

£25,450 given to charity this academic year!

We are proud to have supported 24 charities over the academic year, including 16 that are local to our teams that they chose for Active Impact, meaning we could donate £6,865 to local causes.

For our national fundraising, we focused on accessible events that all could join in, with participation tiers to welcome engagement from the teams that allow all to join in. Thanks to events such as design challenges, bake sales and makeovers, we were able to raise £3,095 for national charities such as Movember, Mental Health Foundation, National Book Tokens (for World Book Day) and Macmillan Cancer Support. Throughout the year we held dedicated events for Cystic Fibrosis Trust such as an accessible dance-a-thon, raffle and online quiz, raising £5,490. Last but by no means least, we delivered an outdoor learning area to a school in Smethwick, giving them a green space for Primary-aged pupils costing £10,000.

For a detailed breakdown of our events, the outdoor learning space we helped to build and how we champion our teams to support local communities, read our Charity Report available now.
