We are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive Primary School in the Aylesford area, seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about education, eager to take on more responsibility, and ready to play a key role in pupils’ learning journeys.

Roles & Responsibilities

As a HLTA, you will:

  • Plan and deliver lessons to whole classes in the absence of the class teacher.

  • Support and extend learning for individuals, small groups, and whole classes.

  • Assist with the planning of learning activities alongside teaching staff.

  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing constructive feedback.

  • Lead intervention programmes to support learning needs.

  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively to create a positive learning environment.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents.

The ideal HLTA will have:

  • HLTA status or equivalent qualification (or extensive TA experience with leadership potential).

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • A confident and adaptable approach to working across different year groups.

  • A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential.

In return, you can expect:

  • Competitive daily rates tailored to your experience and expertise.

  • A dedicated TeacherActive consultant who will get to know you personally, listen to your needs, and work hard to match you with the right school.

  • 24/7 support – we’re always at the other end of the phone when you need advice or reassurance.

  • Access to free CPD courses and certificates through our My-Progression platform to help you grow professionally.

  • Market-leading referral scheme – earn up to £100 when you recommend a friend (T&Cs apply).

  • A simple, stress-free onboarding process with no hidden admin fees – you’ll be paid on a PAYE basis, meaning the right tax and National Insurance contributions every time.

  • Opportunities to work in a variety of supportive and welcoming school environments.

If you are a proactive, enthusiastic, and committed professional who is ready to step up into this rewarding HLTA role, we would love to hear from you.
