Are you an experienced Maths Teacher with a passion for supporting young people who face social, emotional, and behavioural challenges? Do you have the skills and resilience to deliver engaging lessons that help every learner achieve their potential?
TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEMH school in Runcorn that provides education for secondary-aged pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs. The school offers a supportive, therapeutic, and nurturing environment where relationships, consistency, and trust are at the heart of everything they do. Staff work collaboratively to provide tailored learning experiences that help students re-engage with education and achieve success both academically and personally.
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced GCSE Maths Teacher to join their passionate team. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the GCSE Maths curriculum and the ability to adapt their teaching to meet the diverse needs of learners with SEMH needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons to GCSE level
Differentiate learning to support pupils with varied abilities and needs
Create a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
Use positive behaviour management strategies to support emotional regulation and engagement
Work collaboratively with support staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals to ensure holistic support for every pupil
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
Proven experience teaching Maths to GCSE standard (essential)
Experience working with SEMH students and behaviours that challenge (essential)
Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
A commitment to inclusive education and trauma-informed practice
