Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Can TeacherActive provide a risk assessment for tuition delivery?

TeacherActive does not provide risk assessments for tuition delivery.

In line with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidance, the setting where the tuition takes place—such as a school, home, or designated learning venue—is responsible for carrying out a risk assessment. This includes identifying any potential hazards, evaluating who may be at risk, and putting appropriate control measures in place.

While our tutors follow all safeguarding and conduct expectations, we cannot carry out formal risk assessments on behalf of your organisation. However, if specific considerations or adjustments are needed, we’re happy to liaise with you to ensure the tutor is fully informed and appropriately matched to the placement.

For further guidance on health and safety responsibilities, please refer to the HSE website or speak to your TeacherActive consultant.

We have a student who has an EHCP, can you help?

Yes! We have SEND Specialist tutors who your consultant will be able to expertly match to your student and their specific learning needs. We pride ourselves on building strong and trusting relationships with all of our staff which means your dedicated consultant will be able to offer a suitably qualified and experienced tutor who will meet the individual needs of every student referred to us.

Can TeacherActive support with transition of a student from tuition back into fulltime education?

Yes! Your dedicated consultant will work alongside you and the tutor to ensure a smooth transition for every student at the beginning and end of their tuition. We are able to work as part of a multi agency approach to ensure the best transition for every student with their needs and a successful transition at the core of what we do. Tutors will write an end of tuition summary to support the students move into a school or further education setting.

How is tuition monitored and successfully managed by TeacherActive?

All tutors will provide you with weekly reports which will summarise students progression and attendance to ensure that all students progress is accurately tracked. We can also tailor attendance and progression reporting to meet the needs of your school/service so if you need reports daily, just ask!

Do you provide any other support for students other than tuition?

Yes! We are able to provide a range of interventions and support for students, including but not limited to; Art Therapy, Animation Therapy, Sports Coaches, Learning Mentors, Learning Support Assistants and small group interventions. If you contact your local tuition consultant they will be able to provide you with up to date availability of our staff.
