About the Role

We’re looking for a compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child in Year 1 who has Complex ASD and is non-verbal.

You’ll work alongside the Class Teacher and Year 1 team, supporting the child within the classroom setting and helping them to engage with learning in a way that suits their individual needs.

This is a full-time, long-term role continuing for the entire academic year, as consistency and trust are key for this child’s development and wellbeing.


We’re Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs, particularly Autism

  • Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (CACHE or equivalent)

  • Can follow guidance and strategies set by the class teacher and SENCO

  • Has a warm, patient, and positive approach to supporting children

  • Can build trusting relationships and create a safe, nurturing environment

  • Is reliable, flexible, and dedicated to helping every child thrive
