This East London primary school, based in Bethnal Green is looking for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant who is able to promote a positive working environment, assist small groups of children, and work along side the teachers to ensure each child shines! Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in a classroom setting.

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).

  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills (GCSEs in English and Maths, or equivalent).

  • Knowledge of SEND strategies (e.g., differentiation, behaviour support, positive handling).

  • Ability to work one-to-one or in small groups with pupils.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills to liaise with teachers, SENCOs, and parents.

  • DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).

Desirable skills for this role:

  • Ability to adapt teaching materials and activities to meet individual pupil needs.

  • Experience with assistive technology or learning support software.

  • Behaviour management strategies tailored for children with SEND.

  • Observation and assessment skills to monitor pupil progress.

  • Strong empathy and patience when supporting pupils with additional needs.

  • Creative approaches to engage pupils in learning.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
