Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEND) within a mainstream primary school environment?
We’re looking for experienced and qualified SEND Teaching Assistants to join welcoming and inclusive primary schools in the Harborne (B17) area of Birmingham.
This is a wonderful opportunity for caring, patient, and motivated individuals who are eager to support pupils with SEND, helping them thrive and succeed in a mainstream classroom setting.
About the Role:
You will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language delays, and social, emotional, or behavioural challenges.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting children within mainstream classes to access learning across the curriculum.
Providing one-to-one or small-group SEND intervention support.
Adapting learning materials and strategies to meet individual needs.
Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence, and independence.
Working collaboratively with class teachers, the SENCO, and parents to ensure each child reaches their full potential.
Qualifications and Experience:
We welcome applications from qualified and experienced staff, including:
✅ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
✅ Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare qualification
✅ Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field
✅ Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND in a mainstream primary school
