Job Opportunity: Residential Support Worker / Youth Support Worker
Location: Nottingham
Start Date: Immediate
Pay: £13.69 – £18 per hour £66 per sleep-in
Are you passionate about supporting young people and making a real difference? TeacherActive is excited to be working with a welcoming children’s residential provider in Nottingham, and we’re looking for a caring and committed Residential Support Worker, also known as a youth support worker, to join the team.
This therapeutic provider offers safe and supportive homes for 2 to 7 children and young people aged 7–18 who have EBD (Emotional Behavioural Difficulties), SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), or complex trauma. As a youth support worker, you’ll help create a space where young people feel secure, listened to and valued.
What You’ll Do as a Youth Support Worker
You’ll work full-time on a 2 on / 4 off shift pattern, helping to provide stability, encouragement and consistency. The team believes children thrive when surrounded by trusted adults, and as a youth support worker, your role will be key to creating that environment.
✅ What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role as a Residential Support Worker / youth support worker, you’ll ideally have:
Experience using therapeutic models such as P.A.C.E
Level 3 Children and Young People’s Workforce qualification or willingness to work toward it
Experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour or trauma
A positive, ‘can-do’ attitude
Flexibility with shift work
