West Midlands/ temporary / £13.69 - 14.89 per hour

Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

TeacherActive are proud to be working with a Nursery School in South Birmingham, who are looking for a qualified Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their supportive and friendly team.

The Role:

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting both the teaching staff and the children’s day-to-day development. Your duties will include:

  • Supporting children’s learning and play through engaging activities

  • Helping to maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment

  • Assisting with meal and snack times, ensuring good hygiene routines

  • Providing personal care when required

  • Contributing to planning and delivering Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) activities

  • Communicating effectively with staff, parents, and carers


The Ideal Candidate:

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Qualified in Early Years (Level 2 or Level 3 in Childcare/Early Years Education or equivalent)

  • Experienced – with at least 6 months of experience working with children in the UK

  • Caring and proactive, with a genuine passion for Early Years education

  • Comfortable assisting with personal care and supporting daily routines

  • Paediatric First Aid trained (preferred but not essential – training can be provided)

  • DBS checked (on the Update Service) or willing to apply for a new Enhanced DBS

  • Able to provide two recent childcare-related references

  • Available to work 8:00am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday, term time only
