The Humanities department is well-established and forward-thinking, the school is seeking a full-time History Teacher to join the team, this is for an immediate start and continue up until Febrauary half term with the potentail to go on longer. This role will include teaching History up to KS5, with full planning, preparation, and marking responsibilities.
The Role
As a History Teacher, you’ll inspire students to explore key historical themes, events, and perspectives, building their analytical and evaluative skills. With excellent resources and collaborative colleagues, you’ll play a vital role in preparing learners for future study and careers in a wide range of fields.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging History lessons across KS3–KS5, with a strong focus on KS5 provision
Support students in developing critical thinking, research, and essay-writing skills
Adapt teaching to support and challenge learners of all abilities
Create a classroom environment that fosters debate, curiosity, and a love of History
Contribute to wider school life and extracurricular opportunities within the Humanities
What We’re Looking For
QTS (or equivalent teaching qualification)
Specialism in History with proven experience teaching to KS5
A passion for making History engaging, relevant, and challenging
Strong classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
A commitment to supporting every learner to achieve their best
