TeacherActive are proud to be working in partnership with a highly regarded secondary provision in Liverpool that provides specialist education for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school offers a nurturing and structured environment where young people are supported to re-engage with learning, build positive relationships, and develop essential life skills.
We are currently seeking a Science Teacher with a Chemistry specialism to join their dedicated and passionate team. This role will be on behalf of TeacherActive initially, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.
The Role:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated Science lessons, with a focus on Chemistry, across KS3 and KS4
- Create a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment that encourages curiosity and confidence in students
- Develop lessons and schemes of work that meet the needs of pupils with SEMH and behavioural challenges
- Work collaboratively with the wider school team to support emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and academic progress
- Foster strong, trusting relationships with pupils built on respect and understanding
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) with a specialism or strong background in Chemistry
- Experience teaching students with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour
- Strong classroom management skills and a calm, empathetic approach
- Passionate about making science accessible, engaging, and relevant for all learners
- Resilient, reflective, and committed to supporting every pupil’s individual journey
