TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEND school in Chigwell, supporting with their recruitment for a SEND Learning Support Assistant / LSA. The setting is centred on pupil’s development, as well as an intrinsic desire to make progress both academically and with their own emotional, social and behavioural skills.

The school is seeking a passionate team player to take on this long-term role, although there is potential for this to become a permanent placement for the right SEND Learning Support Assistant. The successful SEND LSA will bring a new dimension and skill set to this role, be keen to develop their own skills to adapt to the children’s individual needs and have a positive impact on the wider school.

The position will involve working with students across Key stages 1 and 2 with challenging behaviours. A proactive thinker and strong character with the ability to take control of situations confidently is necessary.

The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant will have:

• To support SEND pupils with SEMH (social, emotional, mental health) needs.
• Provide classroom support to ensure pupils
• Support in creating classroom materials
• Lead 1-2-1 and small group interventions with pupils
• Working collaboratively as part of a teaching team.
