Secondary SEN Teacher

North West/ temporary / £150 - 210 per day

We are working in partnership with a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary SEN school that is looking for a dedicated Secondary SEN Teacher to join their inclusive learning support team.

As a Secondary SEN Teacher, you will work closely with pupils aged 11–16 who have a range of special educational needs, including ASD, SEMH, ADHD, and moderate learning difficulties. This role is ideal for a teacher who thrives in a nurturing environment and can adapt their teaching to meet the diverse needs of learners in Key Stages 3 and 4.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across the secondary curriculum tailored to EHCP targets

  • Support students’ academic progress, emotional development, and independence

  • Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teaching assistants, and external specialists

  • Contribute to the development of inclusive teaching strategies across the school

  • Maintain accurate records and ensure safeguarding policies are upheld at all times

The ideal Secondary SEN Teacher will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience working as a Secondary SEN Teacher in a UK school setting

  • A solid understanding of secondary curriculum adaptations and SEND strategies

  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, empathetic approach to pupil engagement
