Changing the way people see recruitment


We wouldn’t be where we are today if it weren't for the people we work with. That's why we have a passion for DEI and ensuring everyone can bring their whole selves to work, celebrating our differences and uplifting others to celebrate what makes our people brilliant.

This means sharing stories, celebrating culture and creating action for change to continue to transform recruitment and ensure everyone can thrive. That's why we created a bespoke Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee called Empower.


What is Empower for? 


To facilitate events, to create networks of marginalised voices, and to speak on issues affecting our team, the UK and the wider world. To ensure people are equipped to understand and uplift one another, despite our differences.  

Empower is never a tick-box exercise. Facilitated by a team of five employees and heavily influenced by a company-wide survey, Empower align with three parts of their mission:

Uplifting voices 

 
  • Empower Champions who guest feature in events they are passionate about. 

  • Empower Networks allow groups such as LGBTQ, Working Mums/Dads, and Neurodivergent.  

  • Sharing and celebrating traditions and cultures in our regular Cookouts, Wear Your Culture Day and Ramadan fasting challenges. 

 

Creating a culture of tolerance  
 

  • Advisory service – where employees can ask questions relating to DEI and get help with any candidate, client or employee-based questions.

  • Lunch and learns – raising awareness and sharing insight into a range of DEI topics, from staple events of Black History Month, Mental Health Awareness Week, and International Day of Persons with Disabilities.  

Driving change
 

  • Creating policy change within the business on maternity and paternity leave, menstruation and menopause. 

  • Initiating a bank-holiday exchange scheme where employees can work a bank holiday in exchange for annual leave on an important religious or cultural event. 

  • Rebranding weekly work perks to be more inclusive of sober and sober-curious people.
