TeacherActive wins ‘Specialist Recruitment Company of the Year’ at Tiara Recruitment Awards

National education recruitment experts, TeacherActive, have been awarded ‘The Grant Thornton Specialist Recruitment Company of the Year’ Award at this year’s Tiara Recruitment Awards.

TeacherActive is one of the largest education recruitment agencies in the UK, supplying educators across England and Wales with permanent and temporary roles in schools, colleges, nurseries, SEND and other education and care provisions. With 21 branches across the UK employing over 200 staff members, TeacherActive is perfectly positioned to offer a bespoke service to clients based on their attainment and support goals ensuring education staff feel developed and valued throughout their careers.

‘The Grant Thornton Specialist Recruitment Company of the Year’ award looks at innovation, growth and transformation within a business. The Tiara Awards are distinguished by the rigour of their judging and the quality of their feedback, with finalists judged by a panel of over 30 recruitment industry experts.

TeacherActive were recognised by the Tiara Awards “for their clear strategy and deep understanding of the sector. Judges praised their commitment to service quality, employee wellbeing, and empowerment, which has driven strong organic growth and financial performance. They also showcased effective leadership, a focus on DE&I with measurable impacts, and innovative practices supported by positive candidate feedback.”

TeacherActive’s core belief is that staff should feel uplifted to bring their whole selves to work. This emanates through a heavy investment in learning and development both for internal team members and their education staff. An internal Learning & Development team creates in-person, online, and virtual training sessions to help team members get the most out of their careers, providing information on the education and care sector, safeguarding, recruitment best practices and employability skills to further team members’ professional development. Training is facilitated by The Academy which, combined with milestone rewards, progression and benefits such as health insurance and extra days of annual leave, creates a well-rounded development strategy for internal team members.

Externally, TeacherActive founded My-Progression: a unique CPD platform to train and develop education staff in their careers. Topics such as safeguarding, challenging behaviour, classroom management, lesson planning and job interview tips are covered in bite-sized training videos that are made in-house at TeacherActive’s head office. The service is free for users and allows them to focus on specific areas of development in their careers while evidencing their CPD with free certificates.

Richard Taylor, Chief Operating Officer of TeacherActive, said: “There has been a lot of hard work gone into making TeacherActive an inclusive, innovative and truly people-centric business and this award is a testament to the hard work and dedication across all areas of the business which made this happen.”

With an increasing share of the education recruitment market, TeacherActive has seen incredible growth over 2023 and 2024, welcoming new staff to join their internal team across England and Wales. For more information, visit TeacherActive’s careers page on their website.
