Location: Inner-City 2-Form Primary School, Smethwick
Contract: March 2026 - July 2026
Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications

Are you a passionate and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) holder seeking a rewarding opportunity to support children in their educational journey? The Role

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support teaching and learning across the school, stepping into whole-class teaching when required.

  • Work closely with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism, and ADHD.

  • Collaborate with teachers to plan, prepare, and deliver engaging learning activities.

  • Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and provide targeted interventions.

  • Uphold and promote safeguarding practices to ensure the well-being of all pupils.

Ideal Candidate

We are seeking an individual who:

  • Holds a HLTA qualification or is a QTS holder looking to gain further experience in a supportive setting.

  • Has experience working with children with SEND, particularly SEMH, Autism, and ADHD.

  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of safeguarding procedures and best practices.

  • Is proactive, adaptable, and committed to fostering a positive learning environment.

  • Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
