This fantastic Forest Hill school is looking for an enthusiastic and nurturing KS1 Teacher who is passionate about building strong foundations for learning. You will play a key role in delivering engaging lessons, developing early literacy and numeracy skills, and supporting pupils’ social and emotional development. You’ll work collaboratively with the year group team, support staff and leadership to ensure consistency, high expectations and positive outcomes for all learners.

The role will involve planning and delivering creative, well-structured lessons, supporting phonics and early reading development, assessing progress, and adapting teaching to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND, EAL and varying attainment levels. You will be expected to foster confidence, independence and a love of learning in a supportive classroom environment.

The successful KS1 Teacher will have:

• QTS and experience teaching within Key Stage 1
• Strong knowledge of phonics and early reading development
• Ability to differentiate effectively to meet a range of learning needs
• A positive, consistent approach to behaviour management and routines
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with pupils, staff and families
• A reflective and proactive approach to professional development
