We are seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs in a mainstream primary school in B17, Birmingham. This is a permanent position offering the chance to make a real difference in children’s learning and development.

The Role

  • Support pupils with SEN in the classroom, both one-to-one and in small groups

  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering differentiated lessons

  • Promote inclusion, independence, and positive learning behaviours

  • Monitor and report on pupils’ progress, supporting interventions where necessary

  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCO, and other professionals

  • Help maintain a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified SEN Teaching Assistant (or equivalent)

  • Proven track record of working with children with SEN in a mainstream setting

  • Strong understanding of different SEN needs and effective support strategies

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Patient, adaptable, and committed to supporting all learners

  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
