TeacherActive is partnering with a specialist SEND school in Taunton to recruit a dedicated SEND Teacher for children and young people with SLD, PMLD, Autism (ASC), and complex communication or sensory needs.

This inclusive and supportive school delivers a personalised curriculum focused on communication, independence, life skills, and accessible learning. Staff work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and specialist support teams to create a safe and structured environment where every pupil can thrive.

The Role

• Plan and deliver adapted lessons for pupils with complex SEND needs
• Provide a structured and inclusive classroom environment
• Support pupils to develop communication, independence, and life skills
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and specialist staff
• Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching approaches

The Ideal Candidate

✅ QTS / ECT / NQT (Qualified Teacher Status)
Experience supporting SLD, PMLD, autism, or complex SEND (desirable)
Passion for helping pupils with SEND reach their full potential
Creative and flexible in teaching approaches
Able to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
