SEND Teaching Assistant – Complex Needs – Trowbridge – Full Time / Long-Term

TeacherActive is partnering with a SEND School in Trowbridge, a specialist SEND provision supporting children and young people aged 4–19 with complex needs. This includes SLD, PMLD, Autism (ASC), communication difficulties, and physical or sensory needs.
The school offers a structured, supportive, and nurturing environment, focusing on communication, independence, social skills, and life skills development. Staff work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and specialist support teams to help pupils engage with learning and achieve their potential.
Role Overview
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with complex SEND needs
Assist with communication, sensory learning, and engagement in classroom activities
Support pupils to develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills
Help with personal care and moving & handling where required
Collaborate with teachers and support staff to implement personalised learning
Ideal Candidate
✅ Patient, caring, and nurturing
✅ Passionate about supporting children with additional needs
✅ Experience in SEND, care work, support work, or education is desirable but not essential
✅ Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability
