At TeacherActive, our core belief is simple: when our people succeed, our business succeeds. With 210 staff members across 16 branches in England and Wales, we have always prioritised the development, well-being, and progression of our internal teams. Our vibrant, inclusive culture is underpinned by a strong investment in learning and development, diversity, and a comprehensive rewards package.
Our Learning & Development team delivers a blend of in-person, online, and virtual training sessions, ensuring that every team member has the tools and support they need to excel. From safeguarding and recruitment best practices to employability skills and sector-specific knowledge, our training programmes are designed to foster both personal and professional growth.
We also believe in celebrating success. Milestone rewards, progression opportunities, and benefits such as private health insurance and extra annual leave days are just some of the ways we recognise and thank our people for their dedication.
We have a dedicated diversity & inclusion committee called Empower who, for the last five years, has provided insightful talks, celebratory activities and policy changes for the internal team. From Pride to Black History Month, neurodiversity and hidden disabilities to International Women’s Day and maternity/paternity initiatives, Empower has taught the team a breadth of topics along with Networks and Champions to allow team members to have a voice on causes they care about.
Driving impact
Our commitment to progression extends beyond our internal teams. TeacherActive’s My-Progression platform, launched in 2022, has quickly become a cornerstone of our approach to supporting educators and care staff across the UK. With over 10,000 subscribers our free channel provides accessible, bite-sized CPD content on topics such as safeguarding, classroom management, and lesson planning. We’ve helped thousands of education professionals develop their skills and advance their careers.
Our focus on continuous improvement and sector-leading support was also recognised at the UK Employee Experience Awards 2024, where we secured gold for ‘Best Company to Work for SME’ and ‘Learning & Development’, as well as bronze for ‘Best Employee Experience’. We were also honoured with the Grant Thornton ‘Specialist Recruitment Company of the Year’ at the Tiara Recruitment Awards.
