TeacherActive is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in a welcoming and inclusive primary school in East London. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and making a meaningful difference in a child’s educational journey.
The Role:
Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEND to help them access the curriculum
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual learning plans
Adapt learning activities to suit the pupil’s needs and learning style
Support the child’s social, emotional, and behavioural development
Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in classroom activities
Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff

The Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with children with SEND (in a school, nursery, or care setting)
Patient, nurturing, and committed to supporting children’s development
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
An understanding of safeguarding and inclusive education
This role is ideal for individuals with experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or Support Worker who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
