TeacherActive is proud to be working with Gloucestershire AP / Alternative Provision and Specialist Commissioning Team within Gloucestershire County Council. This service takes a personalised and flexible approach, delivering education and support within home, school, and community settings, with referrals coming through the Local Authority, Children’s Services, and their AP / Alternative Provision network.

The service is looking to take on a dedicated Alternative Provision Tutor on a long-term basis, starting ASAP, with a minimum of 15 hours per week. The successful Alternative Provision Tutor will be matched to young people via an expression of interest following an initial referral, ensuring the right support is put in place. You will work with children who are unable to attend mainstream school settings, delivering tailored academic sessions alongside pastoral support to re-engage them in education and build confidence.

The successful Alternative Provision Tutor will have:

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
• Experience working with children or young people with SEND
• Experience working in an academic and/or pastoral capacity
• Background in AP / Alternative Provision, tutoring or mentoring roles
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
• An empathetic, proactive and engaging approach
