TeacherActive is supporting a well-established FE college in Northampton with the recruitment of an Engineering Lecturer. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled industry professional or qualified lecturer to contribute to the delivery of high-quality vocational education.

You will be responsible for delivering engineering programmes across Level 2 and Level 3, ensuring that both practical workshop sessions and classroom-based theory are delivered to a high standard. You will also contribute to assessment, tracking learner progress, and supporting students in achieving their qualifications and progression goals.

The successful candidate will play a key role in equipping learners with the knowledge and skills required to succeed in further study or employment within the engineering industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver BTEC and/or City & Guilds engineering programmes
  • Plan and prepare engaging lesson materials and practical activities
  • Assess student work and provide constructive feedback
  • Monitor and track learner progress against targets
  • Support learners both academically and pastorally
  • Maintain high standards within workshops and teaching environments

Requirements:

  • A Level 3 qualification or above in Engineering
  • A teaching qualification is desirable or willingness to work towards one
  • Relevant industry experience within mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Ability to deliver both practical and theoretical content effectively
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
