About the Role
TeacherActive is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and well-established primary school with a 3-form entry structure, operating across two sites. We are seeking a confident and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their dedicated team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled HLTA who is passionate about supporting teaching and learning, and who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher across EYFS, KS1, or KS2
- Support pupils’ learning in whole-class, small group, and one-to-one settings
- Work closely with teaching staff to plan, prepare, and assess learning activities
- Provide targeted intervention support to help raise attainment
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment across both school sites
- Adapt quickly to working across different year groups and classrooms
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- HLTA status or equivalent qualification
- Proven experience covering classes and leading learning independently
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Flexibility to work across two school sites
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach to supporting children’s development
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
