HLTA / Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Salary: £14.26 - £18.00 per hour

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND setting in Somerset, supporting students with SEMH, ASD and challenging behaviour. The provision offers small class sizes and a nurturing, structured environment focused on building trust, engagement and positive outcomes for every learner.
The school is looking to take on a HLTA / Higher Level Teaching Assistant on a long term basis. The successful HLTA / Higher Level Teaching Assistant will be supporting students across KS1 to KS4, delivering targeted interventions, supporting learning and managing behaviour effectively within small group settings.
The successful HLTA / Higher Level Teaching Assistant will have:
• HLTA qualification or relevant Level 4 qualification
• Experience working with children with SEND, particularly SEMH and ASD
• Strong behaviour management skills and confidence supporting challenging behaviour
• Experience supporting students across multiple key stages (KS1 – KS4)
• A patient, resilient and proactive approach
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
