Learning Support Assistant

Job Title: Teaching Assistant – Primary
Location: B11, West Midlands
Position: Full-Time / Part-Time (Flexible)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience and qualifications

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Birmingham (B11). The successful candidate will support pupils across the primary age range, helping to create a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment where all children can thrive.

You will work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver high-quality support, both in the classroom and in small group or one-to-one settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils across the primary curriculum
• Assist the class teacher with delivering engaging lessons and activities
• Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups
• Help pupils develop confidence in core subjects such as English and Maths
• Support pupils’ social, emotional and academic development
• Help maintain a safe, positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Follow school safeguarding and behaviour policies

Requirements

• Previous experience working in a primary school setting
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A patient, supportive and positive approach to working with children
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

Desirable

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
• Experience supporting pupils with additional learning needs
• Knowledge of primary curriculum expectations
