TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream secondary school based in Taunton. The school has recently been taken over by an ‘Outstanding’ trust and has a strong, supportive staff community, creating a positive and collaborative working environment for both students and teachers.

The school is looking to take on a dedicated Science Teacher with a Biology specialism on a long-term basis, leading to a permanent position from September. The successful Science Teacher will be responsible for teaching Science up to Key Stage 4, with a focus on Biology, and will be expected to plan and mark work, deliver engaging lessons, and maintain high standards of classroom management.

The successful Science Teacher will have:

• QTS with a Science specialism in Biology (ECTs are welcome to apply)
• Experience teaching Science up to Key Stage 4 / KS4
• Strong classroom management and lesson planning skills
• Experience with planning and marking in line with the national curriculum
• A positive and proactive approach to teaching
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
