TeacherActive is proud to be working with a new SEMH sports-focused provision in Hull, which opened in January 2026 and offers a fresh, engaging environment for young people who benefit from structured, active and therapeutic support. This setting is committed to building positive relationships, promoting emotional wellbeing and using sport as a powerful tool to develop confidence, resilience and self-regulation.

The provision is looking to appoint a full-time permanent SEMH Teaching Assistant from September 2026. The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will be supporting KS3 and KS4 students with social, emotional and mental health needs, working closely with staff to promote positive behaviour, engagement in learning and participation in sport-led activities across the provision.

The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will have:

Experience working with KS3 and KS4 students with SEMH needs

A strong understanding of behaviour support and de-escalation strategies

The ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils

A proactive and patient approach within a fast-paced learning environment

Confidence supporting pupils both in the classroom and during sports-based activities

A resilient, adaptable and enthusiastic attitude
