SEN Teaching Assistant

West Midlands/ temporary / £95 - 110 per day

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join a small, specialist school supporting pupils aged 8–18 with complex learning needs, autism and social, emotional and mental health needs. The setting provides a highly personalised education for a small number of pupils whose needs cannot be met within mainstream environments.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and specialists to support pupils both in the classroom and through personalised interventions.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting pupils with complex SEND and behavioural needs

  • Helping deliver individualised learning programmes

  • Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement

  • Supporting communication and social interaction

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from individuals with experience supporting children or adults with additional needs, including backgrounds in:

  • SEND education or special schools

  • Care or residential support work

  • Youth work or mentoring

  • Psychology or education graduates

  • Behaviour support roles

  • Therapeutic or pastoral support
