Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special educational needs?

We are looking for a dedicated SEND Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Worcester. This school caters to students aged 11-18, with mixed needs from Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) to Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). The school has received a Good Ofsted rating, with a supportive and inclusive environment for both students and staff.

As a SEND Teacher, you will have the opportunity to work with small groups of students, delivering tailored lessons that promote independence, social skills, and academic growth. You will use innovative teaching methods and provide emotional support to ensure that each student achieves their potential, regardless of their learning barriers.

This is a temporary to permanent position, offering the right candidate the opportunity to secure a permanent role based on performance and fit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that are adapted to the varying needs of students with MLD and PMLD.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring that every student feels valued and understood.
  • Provide emotional and behavioral support to students, helping them to build confidence and resilience.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, SENCO, and other staff to create individualized learning plans.
  • Regularly assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Support students' social and emotional development, promoting independence and life skills.

The successful candidate will have:

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with students with SEND, specifically those with MLD and PMLD.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students with complex learning needs.
  • A compassionate, patient, and adaptable teaching style.
  • Experience in using specialized resources and therapeutic practices for SEND students is desirable.
  • A proactive attitude, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
