Age Range: Pupils of varying ages and needs across different schools

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including moderate learning difficulties, autism, and communication challenges. This is a dynamic and rewarding role where no two days are the same—ideal for someone who is patient, adaptable, and passionate about making a genuine difference in young people’s lives.

What We’re Looking For

You don’t need previous school experience to apply. Many of our most successful SEND Teaching Assistants come from backgrounds such as:

  • Care work
  • Support work with vulnerable individuals or young adults
  • Youth work or mentoring
  • Volunteering with children or individuals in crisis
  • Community-based support roles

If you have experience supporting people with emotional or behavioural needs—or you’re naturally empathetic, calm, and resilient—you could be a great fit for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils during lessons, helping them stay engaged and build confidence
  • Encourage independence and support the development of essential life skills
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to meet individual needs
  • Bring creativity and enthusiasm to a wide range of activities, from core subjects to practical and outdoor learning
  • Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive environment where every pupil feels valued

About You

  • Caring, reliable, and committed to supporting young people
  • Calm and patient, even in challenging situations
  • Eager to learn more about SEND and develop your skills
  • Passionate about making a meaningful, lasting impact every day
