TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming and inclusive 3-form entry primary school in Alum Rock, Birmingham, who are looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.
This role will involve providing 1:1 support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate must be comfortable supporting with personal care, ensuring pupils’ dignity, safety and wellbeing at all times.

The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
Provide 1:1 support for pupils with SEND, tailored to their individual needs.
Support pupils with personal care in a respectful and dignified manner.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support plans.
Assist with social, emotional and behavioural development.
Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Experience working with children in a SEND school or mainstream primary school.
Confidence and willingness to support with personal care needs.
A Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification (or equivalent).
A calm, patient and compassionate approach.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must:
Hold a DBS certificate on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one through TeacherActive.
Be able to provide two professional references from recent UK educational employers.
Have the legal right to work in the UK.
