Are you an experienced Child Residential Support Worker looking for something new and more rewarding? We’re offering an exciting opportunity to transition into a specialist SEND school setting, supporting young people with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). This is a unique chance to move from traditional residential care into an educational environment where your skills will directly support learning, development, and independence.
About the Role
You will be working as an SEND Teaching Assistant in a Special School that caters for children who have additional needs, mental health and communication difficulties. You would be helping with aspects of personal care, behaviour management, 1:1 support and moving and handling of vulnerable children. This is a classroom support role, so you would need to have availability for school hours which would be 08:30am till 3:30pm during the week.

- Has a patient, caring, and compassionate approach
- Is resilient and confident managing challenging behaviour
- Has experience providing 1:1 support to promote independence and self-esteem
- Maintains dignity, respect, and privacy at all times
- Is flexible, reliable, and adaptable to different situations
Requirements
- Enhanced Child & Adult DBS on the Update Service
- Right to work in the UK (e.g. Passport, Driving Licence, Share Code, or Birth Certificate)
- Essential: Experience supporting vulnerable young people
