SEN Teaching Assistant – Poplar, Tower Hamlets
Start Date: ASAP | Full-Time
TeacherActive is currently recruiting for a resilient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a large, 3-form entry primary school in the Poplar area of Tower Hamlets.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with additional needs in a school that requires confident, proactive staff who can thrive in a fast-paced and sometimes challenging environment.
The Role:
- Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored and engaging learning activities
- Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour effectively
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Helping to create a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN is essential
- Proven ability to manage challenging behaviour in a school setting
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
