Are you an experienced Child Residential Support Worker or Personal Assistant to someone with SEN looking for a fresh challenge? We’re offering a rewarding transition into education, supporting pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). This role allows you to move beyond residential care into a structured, supportive classroom environment where your experience will directly contribute to learning, independence, and personal development.


About the Role

As an SEND Teaching Assistant, you’ll work within a specialist school supporting children with additional needs, including mental health and communication difficulties.

Your role will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support in the classroom
  • Assisting with personal care and maintaining dignity at all times
  • Supporting behaviour management in a calm and consistent manner
  • Helping with moving and handling where required
  • Encouraging engagement, confidence, and independence in learning

This is a term-time, classroom-based role, with working hours typically 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Requirements

  • Enhanced Child & Adult DBS on the Update Service
  • Right to work in the UK (e.g. Passport, Driving Licence, Share Code, or Birth Certificate)
  • Essential: Experience supporting vulnerable children or young people
