We’re offering a rewarding transition into education, supporting pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). This role allows you to move beyond residential care into a structured, supportive classroom environment where your experience will directly contribute to learning, independence, and personal development.
About the Role
As an SEND Teaching Assistant, you’ll work within a specialist school supporting children with additional needs, including mental health and communication difficulties.
Your role will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support in the classroom
- Assisting with personal care and maintaining dignity at all times
- Supporting behaviour management in a calm and consistent manner
- Helping with moving and handling where required
- Encouraging engagement, confidence, and independence in learning
This is a term-time, classroom-based role, with working hours typically 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.

- Has experience delivering 1:1 support to vulnerable young people

- Is flexible, reliable, and adaptable in a dynamic environment
Requirements
- Enhanced Child & Adult DBS on the Update Service
- Right to work in the UK (e.g. Passport, Driving Licence, Share Code, or Birth Certificate)
- Essential: Experience supporting vulnerable children or young people
