Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist (School-Based)

Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time (Flexible)

Salary: £38,000 – £48,000 per annum (dependent on experience) / competitive daily rate available

About the Role:
TeacherActive is working in partnership with a supportive and inclusive school in Chelmsford to recruit a passionate and skilled Speech and Language Therapist. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with children and young people who require specialist support to develop their communication, language, and social interaction skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, diagnose, and support students with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN)

• Design and deliver tailored therapy programmes to meet individual needs

• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to implement strategies in the classroom

• Provide training and guidance to staff and parents/carers

• Contribute to EHCP assessments, target setting, and annual reviews

• Maintain accurate records, reports, and progress tracking

Requirements:

• Degree in Speech and Language Therapy

• Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

• Experience working with children or within an educational setting (desirable)

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• A proactive, empathetic, and child-centred approach
