Teaching Assistant

bout the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a school setting within the Treorchy area. This is a full-time position, offering consistent hours and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child’s educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with ASD
• Assist in implementing individual learning plans and strategies
• Promote engagement, independence, and positive behaviour
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support the child’s development
• Create a supportive and structured learning environment

Requirements:

• Essential: Previous experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Patient, empathetic, and understanding approach
• Strong commitment to supporting children with additional needs
• Ability to build positive relationships and maintain consistency
• Reliable and able to commit to long-term work
