Teaching Assistant – Basildon

TeacherActive is currently recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work across a range of welcoming and supportive primary schools in Basildon and the surrounding areas.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils in their learning and development. This includes providing one-to-one and small group support, assisting with classroom activities, and helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils
- Assist students with additional learning needs, including SEND
- Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Support classroom management and behaviour strategies
- Assist with the preparation of learning materials and resources
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children (school or similar setting preferred)
- Patient, caring, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Genuine passion for education and supporting young learners
- Relevant qualifications (Level 2 or 3 in Education, Teaching, or Childcare – desirable but not essential)
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
