Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Derby
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £95 - £110 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a supportive mainstream primary school in central Derby, which has a dedicated SEND unit. The school promotes an inclusive ethos and provides a nurturing environment where children with additional needs are supported to achieve their full potential.

The school is looking to take on a full time SEN Teaching Assistant on a long term basis, with the potential to go permanent for the right SEN Teaching Assistant. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will be working within the SEND unit, supporting pupils with a variety of needs including ASD, communication difficulties and learning needs, requiring a flexible and proactive approach.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:
• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience
• Experience supporting children with SEND, ideally within a school or SEND setting
• Experience working with a range of needs including ASD and communication difficulties
• Strong behaviour management skills
• A patient, resilient and nurturing approach
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
